Dr. Wheeler is a Phoenician by birth, but spent most of her adolescence in Stockton, California. She attended middle school in Ahwatukee, and moved back to California for high school and college. She attended the University of California – Davis for her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, where she graduated with Highest Honors.

Prior to medical school, Dr. Wheeler worked in a cardiology research lab for two years, focusing on cardiometabolic risk in women. She made her journey back to Arizona for medical school at the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix, where she received the Outstanding Student Award for Family and Community Medicine.

Dr. Wheeler is board-certified in Family Medicine. She completed her residency training at University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix/Banner University Medical Center – Phoenix. She was involved in a national podcast for Family Medicine and completed three trips abroad to deliver care to underserved populations in Central and South America during her training. She has developed specific interests in pediatrics, women’s health, preventive care, and chronic disease. She looks forward to developing long-term relationships with her patients and their families.

For fun, Dr. Wheeler enjoys spending time with her family/friends/dogs, traveling to new places, hiking, camping, and visiting national parks. She is a member/team leader for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Light the Night Walk every year.
